Dentist

Dr Rebecca Gavin attended Trinity College in Dublin where she obtained her Bachelor of Dental Science Degree with Honours. Rebecca is known for her friendly nature and is a caring and gentle dentist. She worked in a general practice in Ireland for two years before moving to Australia for four years where she worked in private practices in Melbourne and Brisbane. In order to keep up to date with the latest advancements and techniques in the field, Rebecca continues to further her knowledge. She has completed a primary diploma in clinical dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons. When she isn’t practising dentistry, she enjoys Pilates, catching up with friends and travelling to new places.

Aoife holds an Honours Degree in Dentistry from University College Cork. Prior to this, she earned a honours degree in Microbiology from NUI Galway, where her thesis focused on periodontal disease, an area of study that solidified her decision to pursue a career in Dentistry. Expanding her expertise, Aoife completed the highly rigorous three-year MSc in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine, graduating with a distinction. This prestigious program, led by internationally renowned experts, is recognized as the gold standard for excellence in aesthetic medicine. Her research investigated the role of dermal fillers in stimulating skin rejuvenation, with a particular focus on their age-dependent effects.

Aoife is a member of both the Irish Dental Association and the Irish College of Aesthetic Medicine. She has a particular interest in preventative, cosmetic, and minimally invasive dentistry. Dedicated to continuous professional development, she actively pursues advanced training both in Ireland and internationally, ensuring she remains at the forefront of the latest dental techniques and innovations. Aoife is committed to delivering high-quality care in a calm and welcoming environment, prioritizing patient comfort and well-being. Beyond her professional career, Aoife enjoys marathons, adventure races, skiing, and surfing. In her free time, she can often be found running around with her crazy Lurcher, Cricket.

Partner, Restorative Dentist

Alex graduated from the Dublin Dental School & Hospital in 2006 having attained an Honours degree. On graduating he returned to work there as a House Office for one year. Then followed a year in general practice in Dublin. In 2008 he relocated to the UK where he took up a position as a Senior House Officer in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the James Cook University Hospital Middlesbrough. Whilst there he attended numerous continuing dental education courses relating to the area of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He also completed his MFDS examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Alex returned to Ireland in late 2009 and has worked in general practice since joining Beechwood Dental in early 2010. He has an interest in all aspects of dentistry and likes to keep up to date with all new developments by regularly attending continuing dental education courses. Alex has a particular interest in crown & bridge, surgical dentistry and treating anxious patients. Alex is currently a member of the Board of the Dublin Dental School & Hospital having been appointed in 2007.

Outside of dentistry, Alex is a keen sportsman continuing to play social rugby for Blackrock RFC and is a Leinster Season Ticket holder. His interests also include golf, angling and cooking.

Partner, Implant Dentist

A graduate of Birmingham University Dental School, where he graduated with a Distinction in Clinical Dentistry, after completing an elective period in the University of Texas, San Antonio University's Oral Surgery Department. Peter has been providing implant treatment since 2002 and in that time has placed and restored over 2,000 implants. Peter has studied with leaders in the subject of dental implantology in both Europe and the USA, including attending the Branemark Clinic in Gothenberg, as well as completing courses under the mentorship of the UK's renowned prosthodontist Dr Neil Wilson. Before co-founding Beechwood Dental, Peter also held a teaching position at the Dublin Dental Hospital in Trinity College for 5 years.

Peter has contributed to numerous Irish media publications and radio shows, covering topics such as nervous patients, cosmetic and implant dentistry.

He lives in Ranelagh with his wife and two children. A former GAA player, he is still a keen sportsman with an interest in water sports and boating with his family. He successfully completed numerous triathlons, the Liffey Descent and other adventure races.
