Dr Aodh Grant

Dentist

Aodh graduated with an honours degree from Trinity College Dublin. Subsequently he obtained a postgraduate diploma in Primary Care Dentistry and in 2014 he began work as a Non-Consultant Hospital Doctor in the Dublin Dental Hospital. While there he worked alongside some of Ireland’s most experienced dentists. The following year he completed his Canadian Board exams and moved to Ontario, Canada.

During his time in Canada, Aodh was at the head of a very busy dental office and advanced his skills in many areas such as: cosmetic dentistry, composite bonding, root canal treatment and crown and bridge work. After 2 years in Canada, Aodh returned to Dublin where he has been working in private practice for 5 years.

Aodh has a passion for helping anxious patients comfortably achieve better oral health. This inspired him to attend the University of Toronto to train in Emergency Medicine and both oral and inhalation sedation. He subsequently travelled to the UK for further sedation training, completed Advanced Cardiac Life Support training and is a certified administrator of IV sedation for nervous patients.

Aodh has worked with The Heart and Hands Foundation who provide free dental care for those in need. In 2012, he worked in multiple Cambodian orphanages for which he was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Roll of Honour Award. Aodh is also currently the president of the Irish Dental Association; Metro Branch, which helps him to stay up to date with all the latest advances in Dentistry.

Aodh lives in Rathfarnham with his wife, Emma, and his dog, Sona. He is a proud Irish speaker and enjoys hiking, cycling and playing guitar.
